Malibu Beach Walk and Reflection

Malibu Beach Walk and Reflection

After a very long week that included networking events, client office hours, potential client meetings, lunch meetings for future projects, Side Hustle meetings, parenting duties, and end of month reports. Taking a Malibu Beach walk and reflection seemed like the best way to spend part of our weekend.

As a business owner, there is never an end of the business day. Business days don’t end when I leave a client’s office or just because it’s Friday. A weekend day only means that the clients are not in the office. And I can spend some of it relaxing and reflecting on the week and taking care of my personal errands, but it’s also a good time for me to plan for the following week or catch up if it was a particularly busy week.

Would I have it any other way? Probably not. I love being a business owner because I do set my own hours. Even if they are often longer than working a normal 9-5 job. But the rewards are greater and freedom is everything for me.

When I go in to meet with a client, I am working with them out of a choice and not out of necessity. And that difference makes my work day a lot more enjoyable. I suppose everyone should be grateful they have work to do whether you work for a company or you own your own business. For me, the fact that I can make a choice about what type of work and what company I want to work with is very important.

What’s important to you when it comes to work? Do you own your own business? Would you consider owning your own business? Comment and let me know your thoughts. If you own your own company what do you do? If you don’t own your own company, what would you do if you could own your own company? Is there a reason you haven’t started your own company if you want to own your own company?
