As a girl who is average height (on good days) I love wedges. They add height, without looking out of place at work or at the beach. If you’re looking for height, or just a kick-ass pair of heels that won’t sink into the grass at a barbeque, then wedges are for you. Here are our top 5 open toe wedges:

1)  Robert Clergerie Deba Wedge: These casual and chic espadrille style wedges have a knotted leather straps and leather lining, for a super comfortable fit. You can grab a pair, on sale for $415.99.

2)   Diane Von Furstenberg Opal Wedges: This edgy pair of shoes is designed for a true trendsetter and wedge lover. It has leather upper, lining and insole, with a wood tone outsole. The avant-garde notching is perfect to dress up an outfit for a summer cocktail party. They are on sale for $239.99.

3)   KORS Michael Kors Windsor Espadrilles: Whether or not these shoes are named after royalty, they are certainly royal in concept and design. They leather sandal with contrast straps give the wearer a secure fit, and make for the perfect accent to a black bag or blouse. You can buy these at Shopbop for $195.

4)   Splendid Perfect Sling Back Sandals: These sandals are a must-have for the beach. The nautical stripe would be cute to pair with a bathing suit and a cover-up. You can buy these for only $84 at Shopbop.

5)   Dolce Vita Olly Suede Espadrilles: These peep-toe espadrilles are on our list because they are great for night or for day. The wedge heel makes them a cute pair of sandals to wear in the day but the sophisticated peep-toe and ankle strap easily transform them into a heel for nighttime. You can buy these for $119.

Top 5 Summer Sandals 2012

Summer is just around the corner, and it’s finally time to tuck your Hunter rain boots in the back of yours closet.  No more clunky boots and thick socks; treat yourself to a pedicure and a grab a new pair of sandals.

You don’t know where to start? Well here are my top 5 sandals for this summer:

K Jacques St. Tropez Epicure multi-strap sandals: Who doesn’t want a bit of the Riviera in their closet? Family-run company, K Jacques makes simple and classic sandals every year but this season’s orange leather strappy sandals truly take the cake. They are bright enough for summer but not too bold to wear around town. You can pick up a pair at Net-a-Porter for $260.

Tory Burch Camelia espadrille wedge sandals: Straw raffia is in, not only for totes but also for sandals. These bohemian yellow accented sandals are perfect for someone looking to casually add height without dressing up an outfit too much. Grab them at Net-a-Porter for $185.

Twelfth St. by Cynthia Vincent Lita Low Wedge Sandals: These tan sandals with corkboard wedges match everything! Sometimes strappy sandels can seem disproportionate but Cynthia Vincent has the proportion of the heel to the strap don’t to a T. On Shopbop for  $250

Boutique 9 Pauline Flat Thong Sandals: The leopard-print accent is great! Thong sandals are making a comeback, and this edgy pair offers a very contemporary take on the style. Buy these, especially if you’re strapped for cash they are on Shopbop for only $72.

Pour La Victoire Neysa Two Tone Sandals: Who knew colorblocking could be done so well on shoes? Pour La Victoire obviously did because these sandals are great. I’d get these in coral on Shopbop for $265.

I love the return of the nude neutral beige shoe for spring. It is all about a long and lean looking leg this spring and summer and the styles are aplenty with nude colored shoes.

There is everything from a nude pump, nude thong sandals, platform wedge sandals to ballerina flats in leather and in jelly this year. I just love all the styles available in the nude shoe this season.

Michael Kors is really surprising me in such great ways this season. First, I bought his amazing cross body bag. (Click here to see that bag). Then I bought his wedge sandals. (Click here to see the sandals). And today I am salivating over his turquoise blue rubber watch.

I always knew he was brilliant on the runway, but this season, I have been enchanted by so many pieces from his collection.

Michael Kors brown wedge sandals

on April 12th, 2009

In the early 80’s my aunt had a pair of shoes like this but they were flat. They had the same nice suede footbed and the same gold hardware with the brown leather and the same toe ring just minus the heel. I loved those shoes on my aunt. She always wore them with shorts in the summer and she looked so cool in them. I tried them on once and felt how comfy they were and never forgot that feeling. I found those shoes again in these KORS Michael Kors brown wedge sandals.

I bought these sandals a few weeks ago after taking a hiatus from wedge sandals for about 2 years. I have been wearing ballet flats from Lanvin and Sue London but gave up on wedge sandals. I have the most amazing pair of wedge sandals in a vachetta leather by Miu Miu that I bought in 2001 that I wore to death, but had no success replacing those sandals. Miu Miu has not made anything like that since. Pity considering they were made twice in 2 different seasons and sold out right away everytime. Anyhow, these KORS Michael Kors brown wedge sandals fit the bill. I love them. They are comfy, the heel is great, and they remind me of my aunt’s sandals from the early 80’s. Click here to get your pair of KORS Michael Kors wedge sandals now before your size sells out.
