Looking for a swimsuit for the summer 2016 season, there is no better time than now to buy the must have swimsuit right before the July 4th long weekend. Some things to keep in mind when looking for a swimsuit should be – is it flattering, will you want to wear it for more than one occasion, and will it stand up to being worn while running around in the waves or is it a swimsuit just for sitting by the pool? All of these questions should be part of the buying process since swimsuits are just as much of an investment as a pair of shoes or a new jacket and you want something that will at least last you the whole swimsuit season.
For a great look with a textured finish, the St. Lucia one piece is a top choice. Featuring scrunchy ruffle trim along the legs and edges of the bust, the shape forming swimsuit shows off your best assets in a subtle way. The back cut out with hook closure gives you a stylish look from all angles, and the underwire cups lift in just the right places.
The spandex blend stretches across the body with open sides, giving you more space to move on the beach. The tie closures give you style and function without imposing on your comfort, and the piece serves as a strong base for wicked accessories if you are looking to show out this summer.
The halter top comes with strap ties around the back and neck with scalloped edges. The look is bold and forward, and you can match it with a scalloped bottom or another type of bikini bottom.
Ale by Alessandra Mother Earth Convertible Triangle Top
The bead and charm accents on the convertible top bring just the right amount of attention to the mesh overlay, with lightly padded cups providing just the right amount of support. The straps are stylish, with a halter top look around the neck and back.
Aila Blue Cathedral Bikini Top
Go with a more traditional, full black look with a center tie for just the right amount of style. Halter top straps give you the support that you need to look great on the beach without any of the adornments that other bikini tops usually need. The bottom of the bikini is reinforced to give you more durability just in case you feel like spending your time on the beach in the water and not on the sand.
While you are thinking about buying swimsuits, don’t forget to pick up some activewear so you can stay in shape this swimsuit season.

Kourtney Kardashian jetted off on vacation to Mexico a few weeks ago with Scott Disick and kids and was seen looking toned and trimmed after baby number 2 wearing a black and white bikini swimsuit. She credits her weight loss to Tracy Anderson’s workouts. She does look great in her new bikini. At just 5 feet tall it is harder to lose 40 pounds at that height than someone who is 5 inches taller so kudos to her.
Kourtney Kardashian’s black and white swimsuit is the Agent Provocateur Mazzy bikini for $220. Get it before its gone. Los Angeles has summer for another week before the rain comes back again next week.
In the 1980’s when neon, fingerless gloves, and scuba material clothing was in fashion, Norma Kamali was queen of fashion on 7th Avenue. We danced to Duran Duran and wore our Norma Kamali jersey knit cardigans and asymmetrical white button up cotton shirts.
Norma Kamali has a collection at Walmart and a collaboration with Everlast now as well as her other collections. I still love her jersey knit pieces. She is the originator of ruching and she ruches so well. My favorites are her ruched swimsuits which are beyond flattering. (Click here to check out the Norma Kamali trench coat Travel + Leisure gave an award to for its quality, styling, and $30 price tag).
