When you think about summer it is always about cool fun snack alternatives for the kids to eat after a hot day in the pool, park, beach, or camp. I always like to think of fun ways to keep it healthy. One of my favorite recipes is the frozen banana peanut butter pinwheels which is so easy to do you can put your 5 year old to work assembling them while you are busy making dinner.
2 medium bananas cut in wheels
1 cup of  peanut butter
1/2 cup of melted dark chocolate
Place bananas on a cookie sheet. Place bananas on the cookie sheet. Add a small 1/2 tsp of peanut butter on top of each banana wheel. Drizzle the melted chocolate over the bananas and peanut butter. Put in the freezer overnight.
Whenever your kids want dessert this summer hand them a few of these pinwheels. They will think they are eating ice cream when they are actually eating frozen bananas.
Another favorite in our family are frozen grapes. All you have to do is wash and put in the freezer. A great snack that will help for weight loss cravings as well.
