I own the MULBERRY BAYSWATER TOP HANDLE classic bag and many of you also own this bag in the oak or the black color and the big debate now seems to be, should you also purchase the new MULBERRY ALEXA CHUNG SMALL SATCHEL bag? At first glance at the two bags they seem very similar, but when you look again, you can see that the bags are a totally different species altogether.
The MULBERRY BAYSWATER bag is more of a classic traditional bag with a harder grainy leather. It is a great bag to tote your laptop for work or for University and can look great for a weekend luncheon as well as a substitute for the Hermes Birkin bag.
The MULBERRY ALEXA CHUNG small satchel bag is a less traditional edgier version of its sister bag and is usually worn in the crook of the arm or slung across the body with its cross body strap. The leather is a softer broken in leather and has a younger feel.
I personally own the MULBERRY BAYSWATER bag in oak and have gotten a lot of good use out of the bag over the years. The leather has broken in nicely and now looks like a great vintage bag that is timeless and ageless. I like the MULBERRY ALEXA CHUNG small satchel bag, but I like it in the OVERSIZED version myself in the blueberry color that is so lovely this season. If you are thinking about owning the MULBERRY ALEXA CHUNG satchel bag too. I suggest the larger version in the blue.
