Kate Mara, the American actress, chose a DELPOZO design created especially for the occasion and inspired by the theme “Punk: Chaos to Couture“.

Kate Mara chose a short burgundy dress with woolen crepe base, heart-shaped neckline and architectural modules; while Indre Rockefeller wore a custom made one shoulder gown with draped bodice in navy blue and klein tulle.

DELPOZO’s look worn by Kate to the gala will be available for purchase on starting today as part of a special Spotlight event.
On Monday, May 6th, Josep Font, creative director of DELPOZO attended the fundraising event, which celebrates the inauguration of the spring 2013 Costume Institute exhibition at The Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York.
The Spanish designer, who with the last DELPOZO collection began to show his proposals at New York Fashion Week, did not want to miss the event, considered to be one of the most important social events in the fashion industry.
Josep Font attended the event accompanied by the American actress Kate Mara, who chose a DELPOZO dress for the red carpet. Indre Rockefeller, Director of Ready-to-Wear at Moda Operandi and one of the main hosts of the event wore a DELPOZO dress created exclusively for the occasion and inspired by the theme of the Gala, “Punk: Chaos to Couture”.
Moda Operandi, the main sponsor of the exhibition, wanted to celebrate the occasion by organizing a special edition of Spotlight that offers women the opportunity to purchase select looks worn on the gala’s red carpet, including designs by DELPOZO.
“After having shown in New York it is an honor to return to this city to attend this gala. It is fantastic that initiatives like this are organized, where the most influential personalities and brands from the world of fashion can share such an interesting evening”, explains Josep Font, creative
DELPOZO is a fashion company founded by the Spanish designer Jesús del Pozo, in 1974.
Fruit of constant creative research and an arduous craftsmanship process, taken from haute couture, Jesus del Pozo’s collections always stand out for their strong personality and undeniable style. His trajectory and prestigious work were recognized through numerous awards, establishing him as one of the heirs to Balenciaga and Fortuny. After four decades in the world of fashion, DELPOZO is one of the most prestigious and credible Spanish fashion houses at both national and international level. While its fragrances are present in over 120 countries, women throughout the world have worn its prêt-à-porter and bridal collections.
After the passing of its founder in August 2011, the Perfumes & Diseño Group acquired the company, at the beginning of 2012. A few months later the company announced its international relaunching and Josep Font joined the team as Creative Director.

Josep Font moved to Madrid and did not hesitate to get personally involved in the project. After presenting his first creations for DELPOZO in Madrid, Font continued with the international plans for the company and presented his second collection for the label during the New York Fashion Week.
