It’s that time of year again – fashion magazines’ much anticipated September issues have just hit newsstands, signaling the changing of the season, and showcasing the upcoming fall and winter trends.
The timing couldn’t be better as Glamour’s fashion editors Tracey Lomrantz, Contributing Style Editor, and Laurel Pantin, Associate Shopping & Market Editor, join OpenSky.com to bring their fashion know-how to track down the most stylish steals around.
Tracey and Laurel are launching their first collections, Neon & Neutral and Neo-Western, respectively.  They’ve surveyed all the season’s trends to bring you the very best of what’s out there, from runway to street style. Each week they’ll teach you easy ways to change up your look with just a few key accessories.
Here is what they had to say about their collections:
Inspiration: Not-so-shocking news here: Neon is having a major moment, from the runway to the sidewalk, and weGlamour gals have fallen hard for the hot hues. Jason Wu and Nanette Lepore’s ladylike interpretations sent me digging around in my closet for inventive new ways to wear the bold trend, and I’m pretty sure I zeroed in on the perfect formula for pulling it off in that not-too-wild, not-too-subtle sweet spot. Neon, meet neutrals! They’re as complementary as peanut butter and jelly, and a little bit goes a long way.
DOLCE VITA SANDAL: How do you instantly chic-ify your classic jeans-and-a-T-shirt uniform? Just add a pair of comfy flat sandals and presto, change-o, you’ve got an Outfit with a capital O!
GORJANA BELT: A belt is your wardrobe’s best friend—hello, instant hourglass silhouette!—and this one is especially fabulous. The color combo feels so fresh and unexpected.
SANDY HYUN CUFF: Fact—there could not possibly be enough neon pink in your life. We dare you to wear this statement cuff without getting a well-deserved compliment.
DEUX LUX BAG: I couldn’t believe the price of this bag when I saw it—the hardware makes it feel so much more expensive, and the flash of purple at the bottom adds a little something—something to make it way more fun than your everyday neutral.
Editor:Â Laurel Pantin
Inspiration: As a native Texan, I grew up with Western overload. But in the new minimalist, updated form that it’s showing up in this fall, I’m really feeling it. Modernize your idea of cowgirl chic with pieces that hint at the Wild West without screaming “YE-HAW!â€
JESSICA ELLIOT NECKLACE:Â The sleek, modern shape of these “turquoise” teeth is refreshingly un-Beverly Hillbilly. Wear this necklace with a chambray top, cutoffs, and white Converse sneakers to keep the look cool, and not costumey.
2Â BANDITS NAJA CUFF:Â The gold finish on this cuff adds an unexpected twist. Wear it alone as a statement piece, or layer it with friendship-style bracelets.
As a cocktail ring, this version feels tough and tomboyish—two words I love, especially in relation to this trend!
WESTERN WEAR WALLET:
Maybe it’s the Dolly Parton megafan in me, but when I saw this tooled leather wallet (which also works as a clutch), I flipped. Yes, it’s a little casual, and yes, there’s nothing subtle about it, but it’s so cool. I want to be friends with the girl who wears this.
Both collections can be seen here.
