After a 4 1/2 mile hike with my dog Lexi today I decided to take a few hours to myself and go for a morning coffee at Caffe Luxxe.
I met a friend there for a mocha and then hung out for a bit to listen to my Gone Girl by Gillian Flynn audio book while relaxing in the sun for a bit before heading back to work.
What I love about a great book in the audio form is the fact that I can listen to the books in traffic. Since there is so much traffic in Los Angeles, I typically spend about 1 hour on average in the car a day between appointments, meetings, errands, and school drop of and pick up.
I have listened to books by Emily Griffin, classics like the Damned and the Beautiful, and diet books like Wheat Belly. These books are great to past the time while in traffic or while walking the dog during the early morning hours on a winter morning.
Reading a book definitely has a place in my life and I do quite a bit of reading at bedtime on a daily basis, however an audio book is very convenient and entertaining in traffic while commuting to and from work.
My favorite place to download my books is Audible.com. Love their user reviews and software that allows for easily downloads from iPhone or Android phone or on the computer. Download audiobooks to your iPod, iPhone, Blackberry & over 500+ devices. Save 50% for 3 months, only $7.49/mo.
Listen to Marley & Me on books on tape now. I just finished listening to it and loved it on tape. I usually do not have time to read at night, but while driving in my car in traffic, I listen to books and it has been great for me. Try it for yourself.
Jennifer Aniston was seen with Owen Wilson at their Marley & Me premiere in Westwood looking chic in black. What is it with the black strapless dress as the look for this season’s premieres? Angelina Jolie wore a black strapless dress to the Benjamin Button premiere the other night also. Now Marley & Me and Benjamin Button are set to hit theaters on the same day- Christmas Day. Which movie are you going to see? Are you on team Aniston or team Jolie?
I have to say Jennifer Aniston is looking stunning lately and I am really looking forward to seeing a fun flick like Marley & Me on Christmas Day. After seeing Four Christmases with Reese Witherspoon on Thanksgiving day, I am looking for another fun flick on Christmas Day.

Showing off a little shoulder is the big trend of this season.

And of course here are the photos of her on the cover of GQ magazine, and inside the magazine posing with nothing but a tie. Her interview on newstands December 23 talks about her relationship with Brad and Angelina, her relationship with John Meyer, and how she feels about double standards for women in Hollywood. She looks great. I was never her biggest fan, but at this point I am a little bit more team Aniston.
Revolutionary Road is a book written in the 1950’s by Richard Yates that does not age. Marriage and life is the same today as it was in the 1950’s and Richard Yates’ prose comes alive on the page. It is truly a book that takes you by force. I read this book while on the beach in Hawaii and I could not put it down.
Knowing the characters were going to be played by Leonardo Dicaprio and Kate Winslet on the screen, I pictured them playing the parts while reading the book and I cannot wait until the movie comes out on December 26th.
Before you see the movie, try to read the book. This book is a must read. It is a classic. Type Revolutionary Road into the Amazon box below and get it for free shipping, no tax, and a low Amazon price.
OR you can order the book on Audio and listen to it in your car- I love listening to books in the car in traffic in Los Angeles or on a long road trip. You can download the book right to your computer and link it onto your Ipod or onto a CD and listen to it in your car right away.
