Zappos.com CEO Tony Hsieh sent a letter to his employees about the acquisition and Amazon.com CEO Jeff Bezos made a video regarding the announcement.
This morning, our board approved and we signed what’s known as a “definitive agreementâ€, in which all of the existing shareholders and investors of Zappos (there are over 100) will be exchanging their Zappos stock for Amazon stock. Once the exchange is done, Amazon will become the only shareholder of Zappos stock.

Revolutionary Road is a book written in the 1950’s by Richard Yates that does not age. Marriage and life is the same today as it was in the 1950’s and Richard Yates’ prose comes alive on the page. It is truly a book that takes you by force. I read this book while on the beach in Hawaii and I could not put it down.
Knowing the characters were going to be played by Leonardo Dicaprio and Kate Winslet on the screen, I pictured them playing the parts while reading the book and I cannot wait until the movie comes out on December 26th.
Before you see the movie, try to read the book. This book is a must read. It is a classic. Type Revolutionary Road into the Amazon box below and get it for free shipping, no tax, and a low Amazon price.

Here is some more info on this novel:
In the sweeping tradition of The English Patient, a gripping tale of love and betrayal set in war-torn Hong Kong.
In 1942, Will Truesdale, an Englishman newly arrived in Hong Kong, falls headlong into a passionate relationship with Trudy Liang, a beautiful Eurasian socialite. But their love affair is soon threatened by the invasion of the Japanese as World War II overwhelms their part of the world. Will is sent to an internment camp, where he and other foreigners struggle daily for survival. Meanwhile, Trudy remains outside, forced to form dangerous alliances with the Japanese—in particular, the malevolent head of the gendarmerie, whose desperate attempts to locate a priceless collection of Chinese art lead to a chain of terrible betrayals.
Ten years later, Claire Pendleton comes to Hong Kong and is hired by the wealthy Chen family as their daughter’s piano teacher. A provincial English newlywed, Claire is seduced by the heady social life of the expatriate community. At one of its elegant cocktail parties, she meets Will, to whom she is instantly attracted—but as their affair intensifies, Claire discovers that Will’s enigmatic persona hides a devastating past. As she begins to understand the true nature of the world she has entered, and long-buried secrets start to emerge, Claire learns that sometimes the price of survival is love.

Isla Fisher is now filming this wonderfully fun book turned movie in New York City for a February 2009 release of Sophie Kinsella’s first book in a series of the Shopaholic series of books that have delighted English and American readers since 2000.
CONFESSIONS OF A SHOPAHOLIC is out now.
I first encountered this book and the series of books on a trip to Australia and fell in love with the shopaholic heroine Rebecca Bloomwood.
These books are fast reads and great to take along on a trip or for a few hours of escape on the weekend.
Can her career as a financial journalist, a fab flat and a closet full of designer clothes lessen the blow of the dunning letters from credit card companies and banks that have been arriving too quickly to be contained by the drawer in which Rebecca hides them? Although her romantic entanglements tend toward the superficial, there is that wonderful Luke Brandon of Brandon Communications: handsome, intelligent, the 31st-richest bachelor according to Harper’s and actually possessed of a personality that is more substance than style. Too bad that Rebecca blows it whenever their paths cross. Will Rebecca learn to stop shopping before she loses everything worthwhile? When faced with the opportunity to do good for others and impress Luke, will she finally measure up? Find out now go to Amazon to buy the book and catch up before the movie.
