I was invited to the Kate Spade dinner in June 2008 for a handbag launch of some of their new bags for Fall 2008. 
The first dinner was on June 25th at the Bond Street restaurant in the Thompson Hotel in Beverly Hills. Justine Bateman, Roslyn Sanchez and Kathryn Morris attended the dinner to celebrate the launch of a new Kate Spade bag. I was there to see the new bag as well as to hang out with the Kate Spade group.
Bond Street was the perfect place to have this launch because it reminded me of the 60 Thompson Hotel in New York and Kate Spade is from NYC so it was a very fitting vibe. The decor at Bond Street is dark and modern. The bar drinks were fabulous, and the sushi modern.
The crowd was hip and cool with the celebrities, PR people, fashion people, and entertainment people. A very cool night.
One of the new bags Kate Spade unveiled was the Beresford Opus in a cream color and a black color which was beautifully designed to be simple, sleek, and sophisticated as well as functional at the same time. For me, it was love at first sight. They unveiled a few more bags that night but my favorite was definitely the Beresford Opus in the cream.
It was definitely a fun evening with great food, drinks, fun celebrity sightings, and beautiful bags.
I cannot wait for Series 2 of the Kate Spade dinners. I hope I get another invite.
